Bone grafts

Some people don't have enough jawbone mass to support dental implants. Using advanced techniques, your dentist can perform a bone graft that will enable you to have dental implants.

Sinus lifts

The maxillary sinuses are bony cavities located above your upper jaw. In patients who don't have teeth to stimulate the bone, the sinus tends to expand, which reduces the amount of bone available to support an implant.

After performing a thorough examination and taking an X-ray, your dental specialist may recommend a sinus lift. This procedure involves grafting bone between the floor of the sinus and the roof of the jawbone to restore sufficient bone height. An implant can then be inserted approximately 6 to 9 months after the graft.
